Your Community Matters – July 2020

Now that summer is finally here, we hope you have been able to find some time to relax, recover and reinvent!  We hope the longer days have made room for more memories, and that the warmer temperatures have brightened your spirit!

At the Community Foundation, we have been diligently disbursing funds from the Federal Government’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) and are thrilled to say that we have allocated almost all $545,500 of the funds assigned to us!  We endeavored to reach as many communities in northwestern Alberta as possible, and the connections made have been so valuable!  We have heard so many heartwarming stories of community groups pivoting their programming to not only be sustainable, but also to continue serving their most vulnerable in new and innovative ways!  Keep up the great work!

Our role in the region has shifted over the past few months, to be a trusted resource not only for funding, but for support and mentorship.  We are honored to help these remarkable organizations find a way through and help position them to be even stronger on the other side!

We know that our work is not done!  That is why we continue to ask those generous community builders in our region to help us hold up these communities as they navigate their new path forward.  As a charitable organization, we can responsibly help you aim your support in the areas that need it most!

As the summer days always seem to end too quickly, we wish for you and your families to escape to the great outdoors, tour your own backyard, reacquaint with friends and family, and begin again.
