We are excited to share an update on behalf of our board! At our Annual General Meeting on May 11th, Amy Richards was officially voted in as the Community Foundation’s new chairperson.

Amy first joined our board as a committee member of the Smart and Caring Committee in 2016. From there, she became a Director in 2018, where she also served as Treasurer for 4 years.
Amy has a wealth of experience she draws from as a Partner at Fletcher Mudryk LLP. With this being her 5th year on the board, she is well-equipped to take the helm! Amy and her husband Chris are fund holders with the Foundation as well, building the Chris & Amy Richards Community Fund, designed to help support urgent community needs. Amy is mom to 7 month-old Sebastian who keeps her busy and staying caffeinated!
Fun facts about Amy:
- Favorite Film – Office Space
- Favorite Meal – Her mother-in-law’s inauthentic but delicious spaghetti carbonara
- Favorite Song – Everlong by the Foo Fighters
Further to that, the Board of Directors welcomed two new Directors around the table. Joining the Foundation’s board are Eunice Friesen and Travis Jensen. Both Eunice and Travis are eagerly learning the intricacies of the Community Foundation movement! They bring extensive experience working with boards, own local businesses, and are dedicated to building community. Welcome Eunice and Travis!
We feel honored to be led by caring and community minded people, helping to propel our work forward and upholding our values of trust, integrity, and community support. On behalf of our Board of Directors, we wish each of you an amazing summer and look forward to opportunities to connect and learn!
Warmly,

Laura LaValley, CEO
