Our staff have a wealth of experience and are experts in our community. Your Community Foundation anticipates emerging needs, future challenges and works with donors and community partners to build strong and resilient communities.

Laura LaValley

Chief Executive Officer

Laura is inspired by community builders, thrives in teamwork, and loves to make meaningful connections. Born in Grande Prairie, and raised on a farm near DeBolt, Laura has strong connections to our region. From her deep seated pioneer family roots and her long time volunteer work, to her lengthy career in local not for profit organizations, Laura is a great resource for information and helping others leave their legacy.

Naomi Bressey

Executive Assistant

Naomi’s career has been split between therapeutic and administrative work. She is passionate about helping others. When she isn’t working, Naomi is often volunteering at her kids’ school or with her Neighborhood Association.

Amanda Cyr

Grants Manager

Amanda was born and raised in the Peace Country and has called Grande Prairie her home for the past 25 years.  Amanda attended Grande Prairie Regional College and had the privilege to work at the GPRC Foundation for 10 years. Over the years Amanda has had the opportunity to meet many people within the community and she is excited to connect, build relationships and assist agencies within our region.

Ali Thibert

Development Manager

Ali brings years of experience in the non-profit sector and a passion for helping others to her role as Development Manager. When she moved from Pincher Creek, AB to Grande Prairie in 2017 with her husband Justin, Grande Prairie quickly became home. Ali is deeply involved in the community, lending her expertise to various community boards throughout Grande Prairie. She believes that by fostering collaboration we can all help to create meaningful change and help strengthen the fabric of the community.

Shelley Younger

Financial Controller

Shelley Younger provides over 20 years of experience within our Foundation. She is an integral part of our work, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for all of our stakeholders. She has been instrumental with the integration of new processes, systems and brings analytical expertise to our team!

Emma Robins

Marketing Assistant

Emma is aiding in social media and marketing for the Foundation. Born and raised in the County of Grande Prairie, she is excited to be helping the Foundation and her city. Emma recently graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and is back in Grande Prairie to continue to grow her marketing experience. She greatly enjoys working in the non-for-profit sector and hopes to continue to do so!
