The concept of looking after one another is something the Logan family strongly believes extends past family and to the entire community.
“It’s interesting why I choose to give back through the Community Foundation,” says Kim, who at the time was a Board Member with the Community United Way and a Manager with Multinational Forestry Company. “The Community Foundation is an enduring legacy that you leave to the community. As one of the founding members looked at the way the CF’s were established in Canada, they liked their model, and thought that it would be a very good fit to begin one in Grande Prairie and then expand it out into the region. We saw a real need, a growing need, over the years to be able to give back and help this community and the outlying communities.”
The Logan brothers agree that the enduring legacy of the Logan Family Fund was one of the reasons they chose to establish it with the Community Foundation.
“The Community Foundation has a wide range of benefits that you can support, whether it be community activities, or student grants. It’s just amazing how and what can be done,” says Kim.
Dwight agrees, noting, “I believe that a healthy community is not essential to a person’s life but it is essential to your family life. The Community Foundation provides support for the community – what’s happening in terms of events, and especially what’s happening in terms of helping other agencies.”
“It truly is amazing what can be done when we work together,” agree the brothers.
