POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Grants Manager to join our team. The Grants Manager will play a vital role in managing and overseeing our grant application and allocation processes, ensuring that our funds are allocated efficiently and effectively to support local projects and organizations. This position will be 28 hours/week, with the potential to evolve into more hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Management: Manage the full lifecycle of grants, from application intake to evaluation and reporting.
Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and partners, across Northwestern Alberta.
Information Management: Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis and management of grant-related information. Familiarity with Foundant Technologies is a definite asset.
Financial Oversight: Ensure grants are budgeted and managed effectively. An understanding of budgeting and the operation of community service organizations would be an asset.
Compliance: Monitor and ensure grant compliance with all relevant regulations.
Team Collaboration: Foster a thriving team culture by working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment.
Networking: Actively engage in networking opportunities to promote the Foundation and its mission.
Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and community needs.
Education: Maintain an understanding of best practices in grant management and nonprofit management. Continuously look for new information and trends regarding the charitable sector and ways to ensure granting practices are inclusive and effective.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in grant management and administration, especially within nonprofit organizations, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Excel and database management is essential. Familiarity with Foundant Technologies is a significant asset. All other Microsoft program experience will be considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Northwestern Alberta.
- A commitment to the Foundation’s mission and values, acting as an Ambassador of the Foundation.
