Established in December 2010, the Grande Prairie Auto Group Legacy Foundation Fund was a way for the five dealerships that make up the Auto Group to give back to the community. The Grande Prairie Auto Group consists of Grande Prairie Chrysler, Grande Prairie Hyundai, Grande Prairie Nissan, Grande Prairie Subaru, and Grande Prairie Volkswagen.

With their existing Donor Advised fund, the Grande Prairie Auto Group have been able to support many causes that are dear to them. Some of the organizations that have benefited from this fund include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie & Area, Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Northwest, Grande Prairie Friendship Centre, Grande Prairie Women’s Residence Association, Grande Prairie Youth Emergency Shelter Society, Kev’s Kids Society, and the Salvation Army.
Outside of the fund, the Grande Prairie Auto Group actively supports the 3D Charity supporting seriously ill children in our community.

Recently, the General Managers of the five dealerships met and expressed their desire to expand upon their existing support by including a Student Award to their granting. This award will be available to a resident of the City or County of Grande Prairie who is registered in an Automotive Service Technician program. The individual must demonstrate they have financial need and community mindedness.

The GM’s noted that “Helping students to gain a financial advantage as they begin their career is just one more way that we can give back. We want to see people succeed and advance in their career pursuits.”
Developing their current and future staff through mentoring, education, and ongoing learning is important to their personal and developmental growth, but perhaps more importantly, the key to long term employee happiness.
You can make a difference in our community – not only for today but forever. When you make a donation to the Grande Prairie Auto Group Legacy Foundation Fund, we invest that gift into a permanent endowment fund and the original gift is never spent. Earnings from your gift is distributed to a student award and, following no suitable candidate is found, supporting charitable activities in the community.
