Frank and Agnes Lovsin Legacy Fund Makes its Mark

“Time and again we would see people move to a community with their family and they would do well. Families would end up with powerful assets that end up leaving the community when they retire and move away. They wouldn’t volunteer or be active in the community, and that’s just not the way that we are.” Frank emphasizes that it’s not about the money you make or the things you have and emphasizes, “Nobody takes their money with them when they go.”

The Lovsin’s believe that people have a duty to give back and do their part to better the communities where we live, and they’re just doing their part.

Although they have moved from Northwestern Alberta to be closer to family, Frank and Agnes spent 54 years of their life in Peace River and will always call it home. The Lovsin’s created, the Frank and Agnes Lovsin Legacy Fund, an endowment fund at the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta, in 2017 to offer ongoing financial support to charities in the community that has meant so much to them.

We are proud to be able to work with the Lovsin family to ensure that their family legacy fund will support the North Peace area in their name.

On Tuesday, November 27 at Freson Bros. Peace River as we presented the first grants from the Frank and Agnes Lovsin Legacy Fund.

Due to road conditions, High Prairie and District Museum was unable to join us.  They will however be joining us on December 5, 2018 for our ceremony in Grande Prairie.
