One day there was a dream . . . to build a Community Foundation, an organization that would be here long term to support the community now and forever.
As I reflect back on the past 12 months, I am honoured with the accomplishments of 2015.
Through the trust and dedication of many community donors and supporters, the Community Foundation has the flexibility to respond to needs identified in the community
I love when November rolls in; it is the month of days shortening, birds parting, snow beginning to carpet the fields getting them ready for winter. It is a time to go inward and reflect on this year’s successes and activities….

Simply stated, a “community” has been defined as a group of interacting people living in a common location. To put it another way, a “community” is made up of people who share a feeling of fellowship and belonging, sharing common attitudes, interests and goals.

Your Community Foundation has the pulse on our growing and changing region. Each year, we support a wide range of innovative projects and organizations that are changing people’s lives, helping create more vibrant, livable communities. As a Community Foundation, we support causes you care about from ALL areas of the community, providing healthy food for kids, making our communities greener, improving access to post-secondary education, supporting creativity, helping the most challenged members of our communities, and so much more.

Our team wasfortunate to have attended the Community Foundations of Canada Conference held in Calgary in early May, “The Wild Wild Why”. . .
We were inspired by the over 600 delegates from across the globe with a common message about The Community Foundation Movement and the specific purpose to serve our communities. Our movement is a resilient and diverse engaging communities we live in.
